"Have You Ever Tried Sleeping With A Broken Heart?"

You know what I have come to realize recently? There are a lot of people hurting in this world. There are a lot of people struggling with this thing called life.. and it has been hard for them to cope. People are dealing illness, finances, guilt, and a host of other issues, but you know the number one issue that I am hearing from people lately....."brokenhearted-ness". People are dealing with some major hurt that others have caused. Most often, it is the hurt of someone that they fell in love with that just did not work out in the end. It is amazing how long we can carry that pain. It could be years and years later, but that pain can just be as real as yesterday. Believe me, I still struggle with the pain myself. Your friends think that you should just "get over it", but it is never that easy. It is always easier for someone else to say something when they are not in that situation at the time. It is a process that may take many years, and the only one that can help you get through that process is God. We need to Lord to help us get us through so that we can move on.

In the Bible, Jesus is referred to as a "Balm in Gilead". That means that He is a healer. He will heal that pain of a broken heart if you allow Him to. You just have to give it to Him. "Take your burdens to the Lord and leave them there" is the song that we sing, and that is what we must do. Many times we take the burdens there.. then pick the burdens right back up. We have to leave it. He will help heal the pain. The pain may not leave over night, it may even be years later, but God, not necessarily time, can heal ALL wounds.

So for all you who are broken-hearted and hurting, I feel your pain. There have been many times that I couldn't sleep because the pain was so overwhelming. But you don't have to go through it alone, God can and will pull you through it. He is the only one that can fix and heal...a broken heart.
